Building Bridges

Recognizing the Heroes Among Us

The Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is proud to invite students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners across the state of Indiana to submit nominations for the 2024 Building Bridges Award. A committee of IU representatives will select recipients from across the state. Nominees can be a group or individual who promotes equality, diversity, inclusion, and respect. Maybe you know someone who demonstrates a passion for empowering others. Perhaps you are that person.

The 2024 Building Bridges Award recipients will be honored on January 15, 2024, as we gather for a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and legacy. The deadline to submit a nomination is Monday, December 18, 2023. One student and one additional community member (faculty, staff, local organization, etc.) from each campus and IU’s School of Medicine will be recognized.

The Building Bridges Award recognizes those organizations and people who capture Dr. King's vision, spirit, and leadership in ways big and small — at IU and within communities across Indiana.
