The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. showed us how one person can make a difference. He preached tolerance and respect. He introduced new ideas and inspired countless individuals to take up the cause for diversity and equality.
The Building Bridges Award recognizes those organizations and people who capture Dr. King’s vision, spirit, and leadership in ways big and small — right here at IU and in our own community.
2017 Building Bridges Award recipents left to right: Mary Ann Tellas (community individual or organization category); Stanley Njuguna (undergraduate student category); Larry Gonzalez (staff category); Amrita Chakrabarti Myers (faculty category); Willy Palomo (professional or graduate student category).
It could be a group or individual who works to promote equality, diversity, and respect. Maybe you know someone who demonstrates a passion for empowering others. Maybe you are that person.
Nominations for the 2018 Building Bridges Awards are now open! If you know individuals or groups deserving of recognition for their selfless spirit and dedication to empowering others, nominate them for an award, to be presented at the 2018 IU Bloomington Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Leadership Breakfast.
DEADLINE: Monday, December 4, 2017
