Recognizing the Heroes Among Us
In 2020, Indiana University has a wonderful, unique opportunity to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day together with another monumental event: the IU Bicentennial. This means the annual MLK Leadership Breakfast and Building Bridges Awards presentation will not occur in 2020. However, we will return to hosting the breakfast and Building Bridges Awards presentation in 2021.
The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. showed us how one person can make a difference. He preached tolerance and respect. He introduced new ideas and inspired countless individuals to take up the cause for diversity and equality.
The Building Bridges Award recognizes those organizations and people who capture Dr. King’s vision, spirit, and leadership in ways big and small — right here at IU and in our own community.
It could be a group or individual who works to promote equality, diversity, and respect. Maybe you know someone who demonstrates a passion for empowering others. Maybe you are that person.
Nominations for the 2020 Building Bridges Awards are now open! If you know individuals or groups deserving of recognition for their selfless spirit and dedication to empowering others, nominate them for an award which will be presented at the 2020 IU Bloomington Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Leadership Breakfast.
